Just reading some reviews of the Bangkok repair place. A guy wasn't happy because they didn't honour his DJI care because it was for a different country or region. Is that true, that it doesn't work anywhere you go?

Yes, Dji care must be claimed in the original country of purchase

if you read the terms of the care refresh package it states that it is only valid in the country where it was purchased ,so you need to be in that country when you make a claim
a lot of the hand held cameras have international coverage ,but not it seems drones
if you have damage to your drone while you are abroad then you will have to return home before you can use the care refresh to obtain a replacement
