Filed a fly away case for a replacement, HOWEVER, During our cruise we embarked at a port in Argentina and we took our avata 2 on the tour where we got to walk around.
The avata 2 lost comms w/ the remote and flew off.
Issue is DJI is requesting flight data or a flyaway report but I left the controller on the tour guides bus.

I didn't realize until we were back on the cruise ship 3 hours later.
Are there any options in a situation like this?

Yep not much anyone can do if you have nothing left to show.
Try to get in contact with the tour op and see if there's a way you can get your backpack found and shipped to you, might be a while but...

Yes .. if you can't show the recorded flight data, DJI won't have any way to tell what happened to the drone.

Losing signal won't cause a drone to fly off into the distance, so there's something more to this incident.
If you can give a more detailed explanation, someone here might be able to help understand what happened and why to help prevent similar happenings in future.

Try contacting the tour company. Perhaps they have your lost bag and are waiting for someone to claim it.

I agree with @msinger, contact the tour company's lost department to see if they have it

How could you expect DJI to replace your drone without the requested information? As stated above, if they would then anyone could try to get a new drone.

I may be wrong bur does this highlight a scenario not yet addressed? Experts please chime in; is there a way to quickly/automatically download/transfer logs (from any controller) to a phone or other device?

Update: Apparently it can be done only by using a USB C cable between controller and iPhone. One would need to do that immediate following a flyaway incident lest one loses the controller on the way home or whereever.

Attempted but they advised nothing was turned in.
Expensive lesson learned on my part.

I just ordered one of those tethered child safety harnesses from amazon for my next backpack along with a samsung smartTag

Now thats an idea! Install a tracker inside the controller; I wonder if there's enough space inside.
