Hello,
I am a beginner drone pilot with experience in only Drone Deploy to process our images and data. We use our Mavic 3E to model landscapes in the remote area of west coast Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. We do not have DJI Terra, however I am interested in weighing out the differences between DJI Terra and Drone Deploy capabilities. Are they a similar software in processing, and simply just a preference? Or are they even comparable?
We are also starting to think about landslide mapping and wondering if anyone has figured out a way to have preplanned missions to complete the same survey over and over (for long term monitoring), instead of manual flights? From the research I have done, terrain follow does not seem to be the option.
Thanks for your help!

DD is very simple (too simple imo) and Terra is more complex, but offers more capabilities, features, and functions. It is a preference, of course, so it just depends on your goals and budget (you get what you pay for).
The "preplanned missions" is one of the main features of the M3E. You go into the Flight Routes, add a new FR, then enter all the parameters for your planned flight (altitude, gsd, speed, gimbal angle, etc etc).
Then go to your mapping site, initialize drone and RC, select the flight route, push play. The drone does everything else, according to what you have programmed in the FR.
Next time you need to fly the same mission/FR, just go to the location and repeat. The FRs are saved on the RC, so you can return and fly the same mission as frequent as you'd like.
Hope this helps!

Bonus: The terrain folloisfeature is used for following the uneven elevation of a terrain - to keep the drone a constant distance from the ground, usually used in hilly or mountainous areas.
Hope this helps!
