Do HAVE to update firmware?

My MM is working flawlessly, no flyaways, no close calls, no restricted zone stuff. Based on the problems and hassles of updating, can I just leave it all alone and let it work perfectly as it is? I would hate to spend half an hour f( Mod Removed) with it for no real good reason.

Well, quite a number have cried about the blue authorization zones, so I wouldn't call it for no good reason.
But if you're happy where you are, you can skip it. It will be a nag though.
