I want to back up my mavic pro drone to my pc, which requires me to power it up. The drone goes through the start up checks which include twitching the rotors and moving the camera. If i leave the gimbal clamp and cover on will it damage the camera as it tries to move against resistance or is it ok?

You should always remove the gimbal clamp before powering on the Mavic.

The motors will fight the lock for a moment and then stop. This _probably_ won't cause an issue but it does put unneeded stress on the motors. Since it is so easy to remove, you should just remove it each time.

you Really need to understand how your drone works..the gimble continues trying to do its startup check.
