So what do you guys think about this?

Don't we have enough domestic pilots who qualify for what this foreign pilot was granted a special Visa to work in the US?

"These pilots are fresh out of the academy and most have zero or very little time of real flying, so the possibilities of using them for complex missions right away is probably nil."

Don't know if I necessarily agree with this statement. Anyway, in my opinion no we don't need a special visa to recruit drone pilots that same way we have a special visa to recruit manned aircraft pilots.

The US trains pilots for other countries. Much of the time they are sponsored by their country.
The US has a manned pilot shortage, sort of. But it's not easy for someone to get on a passenger airline as a pilot. Just to be considered you will need 1500 hours of flight time.
