So... I received a replacement mavic 2 zoom from DJI for the one that met its demise in my lake.
I have updated everything including all the batteries to the latest firmware, calibrated the IMU 3x and of course calibrated the compass.
In full hands off dead stick mode, the little begger drifts, up, down, left, right. My last one was rock steady in hover mode.
Am I missing something? Is there something else I need to check?

Sounds like a GPS lock issue (unless that unit has an unusual defect). When you first powered it up, were you outside and did you allow a few minutes on the ground to get a solid initial lock? How many Sats was it showing?

And Logs would go along way in solving this!
Good luck

I will get the logs (I should know better by now). This was a night flight with no sensors because it was to dark.

I always...
Start the RC first
Start the AC on the ground and look for a lot of satellites 10+ before I fly.
Get a Home point established.

I will get the logs Thumbswayup

Next test flight...

Daylight... ROCK SOLID!!

SO... when you fly in the dark does the AC wonder because none of the sensors work?

The very stable positioning that you see when fairly close to the ground is probably provided by VPS rather than GPS. Higher up it will move around more, but you probably won't notice.

Tonight I did another flight... drifts all over.

Mine did that when I flew it at night. Did all the usual, went up about 60ft and noticed on the SC screen that it was slowly drifting backwards with no stick input. So quickly landed and haven't flown at night since, scared me a little.
