Welcome to the forum. I have a moderately priced case, that works really well, and holds everything and more (SYMIK). It also has this, and I never knew what it was for. None of the instructions mentioned it.

Yes they are ! I have a Nanuk for each one of my DJI drones.
I’m not putting my hard earned drone in a cheap case. Would you put your expensive cell phone in a dollar store case ??

Good Thought!

Some people pay extra on the cell phone service for replacement etc.
One time I crashed my bird, my phone and my truck all at the same time. I think the insurance company paid me, my head still hurts.

I got a similar case from Harbor Freight. They have many different sizes. Bought 2 for my 2 drones, and then another smaller one for some of my dive gear.
