Folks... bit of a newbie here still, so apologies for this... I have searched but cannot find the answer.

Everything I have seen &read in regards to Drone Deploy (even from DD themselves), suggests a simple Grid flight template would do the job.....
However, other software packages (eg MapPilot etc), suggest a crosshatch plan.

I have created the 2 plans in the attached image with DroneDeploy.... should I fly both of them and end up with a crosshatch, or would just one be sufficient?
The two flights would obviously take a lot more time, with a bit of image duplication (eg the perimeter).
What do you think.... worthwhile?

A double grid is generally better if you are trying to produce a 3d textured model of buildings, structures or significant terrain. The camera pitch in the double grid would be such that the vertical faces of objects would be better represented in the model. For my purposes (DEM generation using ground control points) a double grid has not produced any better accuracy and only adds to flight and processing time.
