Seems a very reasonable and sensible balance.

No drones during nesting season etc but allow them at other times.

How could things be ‘improved’

responsible UAV flyers respect wildlife,there are certain times of the year when birds are breeding that are no go areas ,use some common sense,or before long we won't be able to fly anywhere

Here in Oregon, flight over off-shore rocks and islands have been prohibited. You must maintain at least a 500' distance in all directions.

Last summer I was at the coast and was wondering if it was OK to fly at a certain location. I was intending to maintain that clearance but still wanted to know if it was OK to launch and fly from my location.

There happened to be a State Park Ranger on site so I asked her. She said it was fine to fly and to get even closer than the 500' because nesting season was over. She acknowledged that the *rule* prohibiting this was still in place but told me that the Oregon legislature was going to amend that rule to allow drone flight in off-season times of the year. Oregon Rocks!

Whilst I think they do have a point Skye is generally not very touristy friendly compared to other parts of Scotland ...( And I'm a Scot) ....

My impression is they don't want tourists....

No ... But they need them... Skye could be so much better and welcoming than it is..
