Drone Skin Owners; Questions.

Very happy with skin from Decal Girl. If you go to their web site and sign up for e mail you will get a discount coupon or other offers like free shipping. Goes on pretty easily except I had to watch their tutorial a few times to get the correct placement for the folding prop arms.

I like the black against the sky whether is a nice blue or crappy overcast. I't my first skin, so I can't compare the quality of the material to others. Applying the skin is just like doing a puzzle. I used a heat gun on low to help mold it around hard to get nooks and crannies. It ships from Thailand and took forever to get here in the U.S. It's fun and rewarding to see the finished product. I can easily see it between 1/4 and 1/2 mile away. I don't know if I would buy from this vendor again as I would like to compare the coverage and material of the other sources in previous comments on this post.

I bought my FAA registration numbers right here in the forum from Aerial-Pixel and they look great. I can't remember if they were $9 or $19, but this is my second set and I will only use these from now on.

Skin: Biglamp Designs
FAA decals: DECALS

DecalGirl. Happy with it. I like it because many locals and friends know my drone by my decals (Bald Eagle, Red, white and blue coloring) and when they see it they know it is me and not some weirdo taking photos of their private lives. Instead they will usually wave to me. I like the customization and personalization.

Like this ScubaBob might try and do something like this with the Union Jack

Just looking for opinions on people using a drone skin and are you happy with it.

Where did you buy it from?
What was the cost?
Was it good quality?
Was it easy to apply?
Are you happy with the look and end result?
Would you buy it again?

Thanks!

Rob

"Rusted Paint from Power Hobby,25.00 and comes with controller and three numbered battery stickers.Exceptional quality. Little challenging at first.Strongly suggest hair dryer and exact knife.Hair dryer for two reasons:1)makes it a little more elastic allowing you get it precise "stretchable",to an extent and 2)when it's in final spot,it will make it adhere better.Dont wail away in one slot, move it around while pressing out air bubbles. The xacto?Nice for detailing and trouble spots(like the 4 battery "bubble dots"that otherwise are hard to remove from sticker backsheet.Note;I don't use them as I prefer to hand catch/launch now,but if you plan on leg extensions, put that part of vinyl on them as they will not fit with stickers applied without tearing. With this kit from Power Hobby, plenty of leftover pieces to add or blend in,again with cacti knife.

Ummm I wasn't to impressed with the material... kid of papery.. doesn't stretch too well, to be fair, I haven't tried any other ones. I think next time I will just tape and spray paint.

Designed mine myself and sent to a local vinyl printer company that does motor sport decals. Cost about $20 and they gave me 2 prints, each including the craft and 4 batteries

I’m happy with it.

Love the rust stickers. Very “fallout” in design. I may get some of them. Would love to be able to wrap my case with same theme
