I have 8 DJI drones registered with Drone Zone. The other day I realized I did not have my registration for my Mavic 4 Pro in my hard case so I went back to faadronezone to print out the registration and was surprised to see that all of my drones showed, under the REMOTE ID heading, a "Response Required" indicator. I had to go to a tab on the right of each drone listed and choose "Edit" at which time I could click on Validate and save the registration. I'm confident I had done it properly previously and I doubt the universe shook at the completion of the task but thought I'd just pass it on in that great FWIW basket. Now I have little piece of paper with my registration number and serial number to show the authorities while my drone returns from its distance test 8 miles out....skimming just below the clouds...down the highway at rush hour...1400 feet AGL. :).

There's a topic open on that. Seems like it's not a significant issue.

I don't know this for sure because I haven't been able to verify the before vs after picture but it seems to me the new setup allows the FAA to run some sort of "validation" process on the RID serial number entered. You click the validate button and it either comes back valid and lets you continue or else you get something along the lines of invalid which I am guessing will not allow you to add the device. Perhaps they were getting excessive useless entries into their worthless database.

That's because their software is stuck in the 1990's
Say it's not so! We are the leader in technology, aren't we? (for confirmation, try living in Japan for a week and you'll get an idea how well we are "leading").

The FAA database is run on a state of the art Commadore C64 with both cassette tape and 5 1/4" floppy back ups. The government paid over $100 million for this next generation system and feels they got a bargain. The brainchild of Musk Industries, the system was installed with less than 127% cost over run and only 20 years behind schedule.

Criticism of this system will be dealt with harshly.
