Been noticing drones following Ski Jumpers for a couple years and seeing the FIS Mens HS142 Finals in Ramsau as Dachstein Austria this month they are doing better. They show following close shots down the ramp and jump. I thought it was an animation at first looking like a game but it wasn't.
When showing the TV cam panning shots you can hear the drone go by. The were hitting 140 meters with a tail wind. Can't wait to see some head wind in competition. On Peacock with replays available.
The Olympics are going to be killer this year. The ski jumping schedule for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics runs from February 7-14, 2026,

Drones have also been in use to cover downhill skiiing on TV. They added a whole new aspect to coverage of the sport. Does anyone know which drones are being used and is it down to excellent pilot operation and is follow/tracking being used?

The drones I have seen look like the small ones shown in news coverage of the Ukraine/Russia conflict. They have the two antennas and no body shell looking like racing drones. I forget the terminology.
