So I got my hands on a poor Mavic Pro platinum that got dunked into a swimming pool
Wanted to know what kind of success you folks have had bringing one back to life after a short dunk in pool water
My concern is pool water is treated and may almost be as bad as sea water

It is being mailed to me so I haven't had a chance to look at it yet was just wondering if it had a chance. I've read instructions of using distalled water and or contact cleaner to clean off the boards and such just no real account of the results.

If it were mine, I would take off the top body and bottom plate and inspect them first. If I saw water damage, I would clean it very sparingly..

So considering this guy lived in Hawaii I guess his idea of a swimming pool is the ocean
There was actually salt deposits visible on the board and rust on the screws.
The camera gimble was frozen from build up but actually I got some good results by soaking it in a mixture of distalled water and some stuff we sale at work that desolves rust but is completely bio safe.
Stuff is freaking awesome you can actually see it desolving the corrosion and salts.
Since my other Mavic Pro has a bad gimble I decided to give it a try first.
It actually worked it pulled all of the corrosion out of the ribbon connections and now I have a perfectly working camera and gimble.
I will take it to the next level and see if I can rescue the rest

Im wondering if it will dissolve glue as well? Gotta be careful because there is glue everywhere in the gimbal and on all the boards and you dont want that to go away.

No it's glue safe, it only reacts with salts and rust.
Actually it is specifically designed to remove rust but on a whim I gave it a try
30 minutes with a 30% solution turned a white corroded camera board into what looked like a brand new board..
To further test I've put it up to dry and see if any corrosion starts again

I just dont like submerging electronic circuitry in ahything that doesnt need it. A little dab here and there is good.

I would use this stuff if I had a rusty chain. Probably works great.
