eBay and the FCC covered list

eBay has a policy of not allowing any equipment on the FCC Covered List. They also have an automated system to prevent listings from brands on that list. It will be interesting to see how this plays out because every entry in the covered list mentions a specific brand except this one which says:
"Uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) and UAS critical components produced in a foreign country and all communications and video surveillance equipment and services listed in Section 1709(a)(1) of the FY25 National Defense Authorization Act (Pub. L. 118-159)"



Every UAS system and component produced in a foreign country is more restrictive than just DJI or Autel, which is interesting in and of itself; however, the lack of mention of a specific brand may mean that eBay's automated system skips this one... we shall see...

This is a sad day. Drones became part of my career job, they became my side hustles and they became my hobby. My fleet is almost all DJI (I have some FPV's that are not). While I am blessed to have the drones I need for now, and they will be relevant for a few years, I sure will miss the new DJI products as they roll out in the future.

I guess my last DJI drone will be the Avata 360. Have I read this correctly that drones already approved by the FCC will still be available and legal?

Kind of. It has an FCC license. But DJI did not offer it here officially. I have 2 of them. I bought a backup since I FPV it some times. I plan to buy the Avata 360 from either Banggood or my favorite South Korean eBay guy.

Current FCC approved drones will likely have a similar supply to what the Neo 2 is now with the possibility of losing eBay if they block all sales like they’ve done in the past with companies on the covered list.

Yes and that includes the Avata 360 IF they ever get around to launching it soon AND if our resellers are still in the game and want to continue to do business with a country that changes it mind weekly. I wouldn't blame them if they've had enough and moved on to do something more predictable and profitable. If DJI doesn't launch the Avata 360 soon, they might screw around and find out.

What's also sad is we have a few people who still believe in "the rules" and cannot accept that our current government does whatever they want. In particular, they constantly says "the FCC revokes" takes a year or longer even after they've been burned by our government and people like me keep saying "All DJI former drones could be permanently revokes on Jan 1st if they wanted and there no one that can stop them." We just don't know. I wish we'd learn to fight fire with fire because we got blindsided with the *all* drones and parts piece. I kept saying they're coming after us....and people laugh at me when I suggest this is serious and the government has no intention of just passing a law and then walking away only to wait several years for stuff to wither away.

And since parts (like batteries) don't get FCC, as far as I can tell, ALL parts are blocked immediately. Does that mean the parts and accessories inside the box are banned? It's brutal:

This is a real informative but shocking video. A ban down to the sale of component parts including batteries. Good grief. Brutal indeed.
