Hi there folks !
I am looking for a great editing software to make geat youtube content out of my drone, any advice ?

I tried to download it, but their website seems to be broken
using the Resolve version might depend on your graphic card, my older laptop would not handle it and got a error message but they do have as older version that should work.

I just learned how to setup a direct upload to YouTube a bit ago and loaded stuff from one of my Scottish festivals. Now to get a lot more flight time so I can post more ;)

yeah but like, to download it on the website they ask for some personal info, and one of these is the country the user lives in (us in my case) but the dropdown is empty for some reason.
Here is a screenshot of what i have on my end

Okay, my bad, just found the issue
I'm using opera GX and the embeded adblocker was messing with the website

Resolve Studio is great, pay once and all the upgrades for future versions are free. I have several editing programs and Resolve is the best.
Even though i am just learning Resolve I like it better that Adobe Premier that I have used for years and there is no annual subscription

There's a pretty high learning threshold for Resolve. If you want something simpler, have a look at Adobe Premier Elements. If you're economizing, you can buy previous years' versions at substantial discounts. It's more than adequate for typical Youtube postings shot with a single camera.

I have both LumaFusion and DaVinci resolve but find myself using luma the most as I just shoot in hlg and don’t really worry much about colour grading as the footage coming out of the air2s looks more than good enough to me.
Of the 2 I think resolve has more options regarding colour grading, and there’s so many great YouTube videos to watch.

I've never quite understood the notion that resolve has a huge learning curve. Sure, if you want to make use of its more advanced features, but if you just want to do basic editing with titles, transitions, etc I think it is pretty easy to use.

I agree that it's not difficult to learn for that sort of work, which comprises most of what I do with it. But, Adobe Premiere Elements is much more basic and simpler. I think most folks would be up and running quicker with it than with Resolve. I was.

I personally won't use any Adobe software anymore as they seem to want to milk everything to death. Black Magic seems to take the opposite approach and actually provide value for your one time investment rather than expect a monthly fee, regardless of what they do. It appears elements is a one time purchase but my guess is they will ask for an upgrade fee soon. Maybe (assuming Adobe doesn't deactivate an old product) if you purchased it once it would suffice for most basic functions. I just honestly don't trust Adobe any longer.

For me, Black Magic provides a LOT of great functionality for FREE. I've actually purchased the studio version even though I don't use many of the features from the studio version. Since it is a one time purchase, it seem like a very good value.

I found Davinci Resolve VERY, VERY similar to other video editing programs I had used in the past (Pinnacle Mostly). It was VERY easy for me to transition to Resolve for basic functions (which is almost all I do). YMMV.

Yes, Premiere Elements is a one-time purchase. They leave the older versions active, and there are bargains available on previous year versions. I liked Adobe products much better before they moved away from one-time pricing.

When I bought Resolve, they were offering a package that included the speed editor keyboard. It's a very useful gadget. It would be worth checking on that package if anyone is considering a purchase.

I legally purchased an Adobe package from an authorized Adobe software dealer any years ago and used it for years. Recently I found that Adobe decided that I had purchased an illegal copy and decided to deactivate the software. No correspondence entered into. I now refuse to purchase any Adobe products. Full stop.

Others have recommended CapCut in other threads. Any thoughts on this one?
I've seen a lot of really good comments on capcut and ability to quickly learn it. Will do most anything you want, but I think resolve will offer more capabilities in the long run, question is will you need them? What platform are you wanting to edit on? Mac, PC, IPad, that can influence as well.

I would recommend watching a couple basic tutorials and seeing which one seems better for you. Or perhaps even a targeted tutorial for something you want to do like masking, color grading, and watching a couple videos. Only risk though is sometimes a good teacher can really make or break the video.
