I am not really a fan of Musk....but he is the one who comes up with the ideas and goals and then hires engineers for design and implementation ...and he does not just pay the engineers....he buys all the materials for the projects......neither would prosper without the other

I don't think he comes up with any ideas that nobody else had. But he does have the money to go forward with them.
The idea of landing of rockets has been around since the first rocket. The Twilight zone used to use it regularly. Many movies of early TV had landing rockets.
So, Elon has the money and the willingness to spend it. But let's not forget that not all the money spent on these things is his money. He does have investors.
I like the forward momentum with the space thing and electric transportation but the rest of what he does, I'm not a fan.

They also had Evil rich villains with the ability to launch their own Satellites and spaceships in order to take over the world!!
