I am new to photo editing and using Adobe Creative Cloud.
Would appreciate any instruction in how to enhance the sky (more blue) in this M2Z pano pic in Creative Cloud.
Thanks.DL Cropped.jpg

Give us a look @nedcampbell ... Also let us know if you are using any post-production photography software - and if you running it on Mac or PC??

What you want to do is create a copy of the layer, then adjust the contrast and saturation until you get the sky you like. Then you use a layer mask and a featherd brush to blend the layers. Most of the sky on the left is blown out, which means there's no color data there to enhance. Shoot dark if you want the sky, then you can lighten the image in post.

I'm still very much a noobie on the Video & photo editing side, but there are a couple of things that have really helped me in the basics:
1) Use the White Balance [WB] setting off manual. Use sunny or cloudy or whatever - but not auto. Set it as part of you pre-flight checks.
2) Learn to use the Histogram to balance the exposure between light and dark. There are some good YouTube vid's out there about how to do this.
3) Don't over-expose, as under-exposure can be corrected on post, but over can't.
4) Get a set of, and learn to use ND filters for getting the best video results.

For my 2 cents this is, some of the best advice.
#1 is super important if your shooting video. If you leave WB on auto it can shift during filming, and that color shift can be really distracting.

As a general rule for skies, to get a richer blue, reduce the brightness and increase the saturation. That combination will give you a much better sky and more detail in your clouds. Put a mask with a medium feathered edge on the sky, so that the rest of the image is unaffected by your changes. You can also put a gradient on the layer mask to increase the effect towards the edges (black interior on a radial gradient) - again, only on a mask that exposes the sky adjustments.

See if that helps.

I've attached my go at it (sorry for touching your stuff...just for demonstration purposes)DL Cropped-retouch.jpg
