Failure to activate gesture mode

Had to figure this one out myself. Attempting Gesture mode without a remote. Normally you just power it up, tap the button on the rear twice and then stand in front of it with your hand slightly up towards the camera. In my case I did all of the above but the unit would never recognize me and I noticed the camera was continuously panning up and down. Long story short, turn off the Wifi on your phone. This did the trick. I noticed the phone had automatically connected to the mavic air’s WiFi d that was interfering with Gesture ability.
