It's interesting...much like "wilderness". Before moving to Alaska I did a lot of hiking in the California wilderness but truth be told I was never more than about a 2 day walk from some road. I'll admit it is wilderness but draw a line from Fairbanks in almost any direction...odds are it will travel a few hundred miles before hitting a city...maybe a few thousand. Wilderness and mountains are in a whole different category here.
