Yes quite the day for a fly. At another site the screen went blank and a big red warning came up saying drone disconnected. This happened twice in exactly the same spot 20 feet away from the controller. Aliens from Zurcon signal blocking I'm sure. The rest of the day no connection problems. And then of course there's the end of this video. There I am running around in peoples back yards with a huge long tree lopping pole. Yup, was able to snag one of the prop arms and retrieve the little bugger.

Sorry you had this happen, but it's good you got it back (relatively unscathed?).

This is the classic combo of a) side sensors not being as sensitive as the others and b) branches with small twigs being harder to detect by any sensors, but combine this with side sensors and it's more of a problem.

You may know this (well, you do for sure now), but it's good to mention for the newer readers: watch your sides.

Another bad combo (personal experience here): thin lines (like wires or guy-lines on a boat's mast) combined with the low light of twilight (you will get low-light, sensor-error messages from the controller -- do not ignore these warnings).

Thanks, ya, no big deal. Got one little mark on the arm which is cosmetic only. I took the chance. Wanted to get those birds. Sunny out so I couldn't see detail on the screen either regarding small branches. Just far enough away on the opposite side of the river to see little detail with the naked eye as well. I knew I was taking a chance. Cost me some running around.

You were pretty lucky, one with the crash and one the male goose never decided to attack the drone. They can be very aggressive protecting the family. Oh an they hate golfers to 😂

Nice video. Hope there wasn't much damage to your drone

One little scratch from where I grabbed the prop arm with the loppers. The props trimmed a bit of the branches which halted the props. The drone settled nicely into the branches and sat there like a bird in a nest. Very tranquil episode all in all. I'm going to replace the props as a matter of practice. They were getting quite old anyway.

Always a good idea after a strike because sometimes there may be invisible fractures that will propagate to a complete blade failure over time. Props are cheap, replacing a drone is not.
