After nearly three years of success, the Mars copter Ingenuity has finally succumbed to a problem that often besets us all... a broken prop tip. If only someone was there on site to replace the props.

Not so simple with a 4ft blade spinning at 2400RPM. It will suffer severe vibration and increased stability issues. It’s autonomous landing system requires a clear and stable image from it’s camera and without a gimbal it has no way to counteract vibration.

Martian citizens and media are relieved that the mystery drone flights in its very thin airspace have apparently ended. Some Martians were speculating that the mystery flights may have been part of a nefarious plot, hatched on neighboring Earth, to map geological features and surveil life on their planet
