I took my new Mavic out yesterday evening to give it a quick test. Virtually everything I shot seems mushy. And yes I am focusing.
By way of background I am not a newbie. I have been flying for video companies for years. I have owed and flew virtually every bird that DJI has made and I currently own a P4, P4Pro and an Inspire 1.

Attached is a link to a very short 9 sec. sample of one of the videos that I shot last evening at sunset.
ISO was 200, Shutter 50, CineD color and -1, 0, 0. Ultra 4k at 24fps

I also am experienced enough to know that this is not a Phantom or Inspire and that I am asking a lot of the little sensor, based on the complexity of the detail (tiny branches, etc) but even the pine trees look like green cotton candy.

Sure would appreciate a few professional opinions as everything else about this little flying platform is a miracle.

Thanks,
rb

Definitely not right .....the trees look like cotton wool. Either it's not focusing where you tell it to, or there's some other problem.
Have you tried filming in any other resolutions - 2.7k or 1080p - to see if they give the same, or worse, result?

Hi rmb take a look at this thread Have anyone else experienced uneven focus ?

Thanks!
I think you must be right. Going to do another test in a bit

Yikes! That's seems to be it. Man I almost wish I was alone on this. This sounds like a much larger issue.
Thanks a million for the link

Some are experiencing the blur on the left corner, some to the upper or lower right corner, some on 3/4 on the left of their picts/video....the issue is probably with the lens, and there is nothing else to do but rma the mavic back for replacement of the defective part. Someone has been advised to recalibrate the IMU (which has nothing to do with the image in my opinion) but my guess is the problem is solely with a lens assembly/production issue.

This is worse than that. Just hovered in front of my house and shot in 4096, 3840 and 1920. Here is a still from each. Everything looks smudged and wait to you see the 1920. It literally looks like a photoshop posterize filter.
