File numbering continuity

Another thread made me think of this, but sometimes I will switch SD cards. When a new card is used this the file numbering starts over at 1. This has made it necessary to group files in folders rather than having all files in one location (NAS, not on the SD card proper).

Is there a way to have continuous numbering? IE I take 200 pictures on one card, put in a new card and the first file will be 201?

I don't know if it is different for the Air, but the Pro has a File Index Mode in the camera settings in Go 4 that when set to continuous will continue counting up (to 999) regardless of switching or formatting cards.
