Fireworks

I captured some photos of fireworks on July 1 at the local Canada Day celebration. I used my Mini 2 with a ND64 filter. ISO 100, WB 4500k and 4” exposure. It was my first time so the settings were somewhat of a researched guess ?

Here are a few unedited photos from the cache. 192AFE44-41B1-4C21-8A15-4391B1D72CED.jpeg667F9AA5-A519-448B-A6CF-0DA50909CCBA.jpeg06550960-2CFE-415D-AD70-8AC960D3E635.jpeg55C79798-E596-4717-B103-A4A0979D025D.jpeg

Does the mini have a fixed aperture of basically f2.8? If so, would the ND64 basically give you an aperture of f8.8?

Those are very good, I can see now how the longer exposure worked well to capture the fireworks path.

Yes, the mini 2 has a fixed aperture of f2.8 and the ND64=6 stops. I tried the ND32 filter as well but it allowed too much of the background/foreground to be captured and my goal was to capture only light.

Thank you ☺️ Was the first time I ever captured fireworks with or without a drone ?

It was quite windy that evening. I frequently received the high wind warning but the mini 2 handled it like a champ with no drift whatsoever

Glad to hear that even in the wind they turned out great. Wind is forecast to be 1kts here tonight.
