My mini 5 Pro had a firmware update today. It didn't seem to be that large as it only took a few minutes. No indication as to what the firmware was for. Perhaps it was updating the DJI Fly App in the controller for a different drone. Not sure.

It was added to the list on the RC 2. I don’t have a M5P, just a M3P so I haven’t done the update yet. I use the RC2 with my A3S and Neo’s.

Maybe they finally changed their minds, and decided to not to broadcast RID with the standard battery, and will restore the deleted statement regarding same to the English version of the User Manual! Not! LOL!

Probably not but would be nice to get confirmation

Nothing for mine. What version did it update to?
Mine is currently on -
Mini 5 Pro 01.00.0300
RC2 08.00.0000
Fly 1.19.0

That's interesting. Firmware is the same as above. It definitely did a firmware update. I have been flying it all week and I have been checking for new firmware every couple of days so it seems strange I would get one but it wouldn't register with a different number.

Same thing happened to me the other day. It said aircraft firmware was updating, but the version stayed the same.

Have you got Model Auto-Update enabled. That will install model updates automatically that are updates but not full firmware updates. There wouldn’t be a firmware increment for that.
I’m never a first day updater.

where is this setting?

They didn't announce the turning on of RID either, after the original owner's manual explicitly stated it would be off. They also denied they had turned it on! Never trust DJI regarding their updates. They insert Trojan Horses with anti-rollback, and when caught, just say, "So sorry."

That's how they hide changes. The only clue will be the date of the upload.

Using the Drone Scanner Android app, my Mini 5 Pro does not show up when using the standard battery. I haven't checked it with the Plus battery yet. I purchased the Mini 5 Pro on Amazon in the US a couple weeks ago.

We definitely need a positive control here so please report back when you test the plus battery.

It's the only one I've used and I haven't had any problems with it. I suggested a positive control in your situation because your results are the opposite to what others have experienced.
Yeah, I thought that was odd, too. I was using a Mini 4 Pro standard battery when I checked it. I was actually looking for other drones in the area, as it was near an event that others might be shooting. I will try it with the M5P standard battery, and M4P standard and Plus batteries and report back here.

Unfortunately, lack of detection does not definitively establish not broadcasting RID.

You need to first confirm that your app can properly detect RID by arming the motors on a known RID broadcasting drone/battery combination. Only after confirming a detection of RID with your methodology can you then properly check for RID broadcasting using a Mini 5 Pro standard battery in the Mini 5 Pro.

The fact that you were using a Mini 4 Pro standard battery in the Mini 5 Pro when no RID was being detected means your detection methodology is flawed. The Mini 4 Pro standard battery is several grams heavier than the Mini 5 Pro battery and was always intended to broadcast RID in the M5P, unlike the M5P standard battery in the M5P, which was originally designed to not broadcast RID, until they realized that even the M5P standard battery made the M5P heavier than 250g.

Since your methodology wasn't able to properly detect the RID broadcast of the Mini 4 Pro battery in the Mini 5 Pro, it is unlikely to be able to detect any difference between the M5P standard and Plus batteries, as both will likely fail to be detected as well.

However, please do check anyway. If you can successfully detect the RID broadcast of the Plus battery, but then cannot detect RID broadcast of the M5P standard battery, you may be onto something.
