Filters sound cool and all but they would put it over 250g most likely since it would be a snap on filter and not a lense replacement.

Unfortunately if the attachment weighs more thank 2gm you have to register it with FAA in the U.S.

In Canada the applicable regulation reads, "payload means a system, an object or a collection of objects that is on board or is otherwise connected to a remotely piloted aircraft but that is not required for flight." Lights, camera? You might wish to check the FAA definition.

Basically if it flies with the AC, it's weight counts. Seems pretty basic and intuitive to me, I don't get the questions about it.
