Did my first flight with my new Mavic Air today. Took a little while to get through the setup steps. Flew up and down the driveway at 10 feet high. Did some landings. Tomorrow more flight Turning it around and flying back instead of the easy backward flying.

I would suggest you go to a big open area so you can practice without worrying about nearby objects. Also, with the DJI drones it is easy to get over confident so take your time and learn the way it handles and what all of the buttons do. Make sure you remember to set the RTH (Return To Home) height properly and learn to use it in the event you need it.
But most of all, have fun.

One note about RTH. As stated above learn to use it, but know that it is set at the factory to first ascend to 30 meters above take off altitude and then return home...potential disaster under tree branches, etc. Learn to use this in an open field!
Be sure to read the manual and go through all the settings being sure you know exactly what to expect the bird to do before you exit beginner mode. These drones will last several years. Finally get insurance on the drone...DJICare, State Farm, or whatever. Everyone crashes sooner or later. But have fun!

just had my first flight today too. the only thing i’d have done differently was to bring an extra battery. lol. didn’t want to land. =(^.^)=
You didn’t enable the “charge battery during flight” option in settings?
Sorry, don’t know what came over me... In my dreams it works though.
