First flight - Way Point Test Flight - w/Litchi - Hmmmm

I can't help with Mission Hub because I have not used it. But to address your two bullet points:
  • Litchi uses the word "Focus" to mean point the camera, not the actual focus of the camera lens. It has a "feature" to set the camera focus on takeoff, which will probably set the camera focus on something close. What I do is have the first waypoint close to where I want to start filming and when it get there I pause the mission and set my parameters (camera focus, white balance, etc.). When the camera is set up I then start recording and resume the mission.
  • As mentioned in #7 above, set the mission to use curved waypoints for continuous movement. It sucks that the waypoint options are not available using curves.

Thanks for that input. Makes sense.

I need to learn how to pause a mission. I like you comments about pauseing, focusing, and wetting camera colors, white bal etc. I haven't started understanding what settings in Litchi for that I will like. I did familiarize myself with Go4.

I am in process of uploading a video from my second waypoint attempt. I should have known how to take over (I actually did but had forgotten...put the Mavic in sport mode). I tried the pause button on the controller to no avail.

Before you get carried away with litchi and get frustrated and if you are using Android give Drone Harmony a look, you will be glad you did and wont look back.

I'm setting up my first flight on Harmony. Does the pilot control speed? I have way points set up, direction, and soothing set. But I see no way to set the speed.

BTW...Seems pretty neat.

In Litchi you pause a mission using the pause button on the app, not the RC.

I use Litchi on an iPhone with my Mavic and like it a lot.

On the iPhone might make a difference (using Android for the first time) BUT-
>>There are a couple of "issues" I have with the app - first is that the POI aiming seems to happen between the 1st and 2nd waypoints - I want it aimed right from the first waypoint. <<
Android offers several edit options to the first WP and one is to aim "in direction launched" and several other options,.
>>Yes, I can add a waypoint before the 1st one, but that's a pain. Being able to add actions to curved waypoints could fix this. Second, the aim isn't always great - I'm always having to tweak and move the POIs and change their altitudes;<<
Sounds as if you use more than ONE WP. I've cheated by taking my WP way off the map a click or two (thousand meters) to use as a single WP and keep the craft point in that constant direction. Not sure if that will help as an idea,..

I'm on both desktop/android and my desktop allows BASIC setup of WPs ONLY. Meaning, I can place them but can't edit them. To edit I need to be using the app. On there many, several, options are avail. Yes, speed is one option with variations. You can set, you can use manually, you can change per WP etc.

Couple of things- you need to let us know 'where' you are using, app/desktop. Another need-to-know could be platform iOs/Android as ALL options are NOT offered on each and/or have different implementations.

ps- BTW, I am happy you have a 'soothing' set.

FYI...I added platform to my signature

Your replies was to another poster, but I'll add a comment or two...

I do not recognize that option. I see a box with 0 degrees in it. Is that where you are speaking of? Seems to me it would just point to that angle continuously.

Interesting idea. I'll keep that one in mind.

I'm confused. Are you talking about Drone Harmony? I see no desktop version for that.

I added my info to the sig so that'll be there going forward.

Hi 56, The settings I speak of are only avail if used in straight line settings (if I recall) and aren't the same if in curved settings. 0* can be two different settings depending on which setting you are in. On the gimbal setting it refers to the tilt down/up where 0* is straight ahead and 90* is pointing at the ground.
In direction setting 0* is true north 90* is east etc.

I also recall "batch" setting offers slightly less/more than single WP settings,.. HTH

I'm too new on DH to speak of it,.. so I was referring to Litchi

Hi 56_kruiser,

There are currently two ways to control speed for automated missions:
1. During the launch dialog you can set a global mission speed. DJI will try to achieve this speed along the whole flight path.
2. During flight you can adjust the above set mission speed in two ways:
a) Use the UI button icon on the left that looks like a tachometer to adjust the speed (negative speed means you fly backwards along the flight path).
b) Use your right control stick on the remote controller to accelerate or deaccelerate.

Hope this helps. If you have other questions you can always drop us a line to [email protected].

Happy flying,
DH Team
