What I am seeing is the first impressions with
DJI goggles by iPad users are kinda bland. I think looking at a high def screen from the start and then going to
goggles bring almost always the same not-so-impressed reaction.
The video quality is way more impressive to pilots who:
Use iPhones with small screens, ie 5's and 6's, etc...
Android pilots who use minimal resolution screen tablets or phones as small as 4 or 5 inches.
or
Users who have unique expectations such as Mavic only users who utilize head tracking gimbal or yaw controls
My experience and conclusion:
DJI Goggles video is outstanding and easy to see (way better and easier to see than my 4" iPhone screen). Head tracking is amazing for precise subject tracking while flying.
More useful symbology displayed in the
goggles and not crowded onto the screen like my iPhone display.
When I become immersed in the googles view I become much more comfortable with the full screen view and tend to not be as nervous while trying to watch what I am recording. I have found that I can do a lot more "one take" shots because I am able to more precisely frame my shots.
Just my opinion, it's all my own. Everybody sees EVERYTHING, differently, depending on your expectations.
