As i read all these drone years for fly away cases i would like to know if DJI or other brands give any possible reasons / conditions that fly away can be happen.
I wonder if it has to do with magnetic issues / gps or hardware/software failure.
I open this thread as i can fully accept to crash my drone by mistake but i can not accept that my brand new mavic someday may say goodbye itself.
I can remember that from wookong units, a2 units there were fly away cases but not so many from naza units.
Can they eliminate or minimize this???? I am just asking!!!

The reasons you mentioned are pretty much to the point. So many of the fly-away incidents posted could have been avoided, had the operator simply had more experience. In some cases, the drone has truly lost its mind - for which there is no cure - mid-flight. But even in the event of magnetic or radio interference, compass or GPS issues, FW or SW bugs, low satellite count, a seasoned operator can see the problems with the flight early on and land the craft to figure out what's what.

There are absolutely no guarantees that you will ever experience a fly-away, but in many cases - the *problem* shows itself during flight. If you feel something is wrong - it probably is.

I had a Phantom 2 make a run for China many years ago while flying in a heavily mined (gold mines) area of the Sierra Nevada foothills. After trying the usual things, I hit Home-lock, which brought the very unstable craft back to me. So... What did I do? I took my Mavic to the same location. The first flight was flawless. Upon returning a few weeks later, the next flight started off horribly, with the Mavic darting around trying to position itself immediately after take-off. I landed it and moved several hundred yards away from the first launch point, where I had a stable flight. EDIT: I think many inexperienced operators would have continued with the flight, then later posted a thread here, entitled something like, "Mavic went crazy, then flew away."

Learn to know what looks normal, and what does not. Act accordingly.

Flyaways are most often caused by some type of pilot error. It's usually easy to identify those errors by reviewing the flight log (if you know what to look for). Hardware-related issues are sometimes the cause. Assuming the hardware issue is not something related to pilot error (e.g. not ensuring the battery is snapped in), there really is no good way to prevent them.

Can they eliminate or minimize this?
Here are a few key sources of information you can read up on to help minimize a flyaway:

Nearly all fly aways are caused by the users not reading or understanding how RTH or the drone itself works. Most could probably be avoided if people actually read the manual.
