2 Pro Flying Google’s Earth

I don’t know how you managed to do this, but it was a perfect alignment of all shots!! Impressive!!
Thanks! I had to create some Excel software to generate KML’s for Google Earth from M2P flight records. Eh … something to keep me occupied.

Wow X2, so many people would not even know what you actually did :).
I'm glad that I doThumbswayup

The data you had to merge in a spreed sheet with a program.
OMG!

Do you work with google :)
You must be good with accounting. :)

Will you help me with my taxes.👌

Rod ..

Wow. What a wonderful idea and a beautiful execution of that idea. The best compliment I can offer is that watching it triggered big involuntary smiles, head shakes of wonder at how it was done, and the urge to immediately forward the link to a good friend.

Thank you.
Here’s how it was done:

1. I happen to process and store all of my flight records in an Excel file. CSV files are generated via the txt2csv app.
2. I then wrote Excel macros to generate flight path information from the CSV file into a KML file for Google Earth Pro. It also includes path and camera headings for each video recorded during the flight.
3. After choosing a particular video clip, I then play in Google Earth the particular kml video path as a “tour”, during which I capture the screen image on my computer. (Im leaving out a lot of details here.)
4. I then upload the captured screen video of Google Earth following the drone’s video path along with the DJI video clip into Final Cut Pro. They are “mostly” identical in camera direction, velocity, altitude, etc.
5. Then I match them up and voila!

Here’s a crude demo of my KML generator. There’s a whole bunch of path “tours” generated along with data points, path types, etc. applicable to M1 and M2P drones.

Thanks for the additional information on the process. I suspect that some of the real magic lies in the editing finesse required to deal with the "mostly" identical Google Earth and drone paths.
Yup!
