So much hype going around the Mavic 4 pro that I decided to make a down to earth first impression of this drone if anyone is interested.

Nice video review of the Mavic 4 Pro. It looks like a nice drone., but I don't have any FOMO with drone in the United States. The spinning gimbal seems gimmicky to me, and I feel it would give my viewers motion sickness if I used it often in video shooting. I have a Mavic 3 Cine, so I already have the availability to shoot 4:2:2 10-bit, so I wouldn't be missing out on that feature. I don't have a use case for 100 MP photo files. Having a 6K video option is a nice feature, but not sure how much of a leap it is over 5.1K on the Mavic 3 series.

But what we really want to know is whether it was worth selling your bike.

How much do you think I can get for my old Schwinn?
The OP must have had an incredibly high end bicycle, to be able to sell it and buy the Creator Combo!

He also did say bicycle, rather than bike, so it likely wasn’t a motorcycle, unless it was a translation error to use the word bicycle, rather than motorcycle or bike, which can also refer to a motorcycle.

Creator Combo was not too expensive in Norway. The drone is as expected. The max speed increase and battery is great. Free panorama is a small revolution (also on Air3S though). Camera is great, the mid-tele super-useful for free pano shots. Build is great. The gimbal protector is crappy as usual.
One major problem: it is limited to 500m agl, the Air3S has 1000m limit. Does anbody have info on that stupid limit?
1000m max height after fw update.
The RC2 pro is great, reminds me a bit of controlling Air2 using a mini iPad. But lighter and brighter and better. So both the controller and drone is bigger than previous models. The drone is surprisingly quiet! Can be compared to Air3S.

Haha yes the gimbal protector..... this made me laugh. I agree with you. Been using it now for over a week and it is such a beast, I love it

Hi it was an E bike and yes I got 2k dollars for it. I was always going to sell it regardless, but the timing was good. So bike + the selling of the mavic 3 classic almost evens it out, but I have a buffer and I have been ready for the mavic 4 pro for quite some time. It did not take me by surprise lets just put it like that.

this just tells me you don't fly like I do because that new RC PRO 2 controller is a game changer as the RC2 screen location and size is a joke but if you don't fly on the edge like I do, I guess it doesn't mater.

Honestly, my Mavic 4 Pro Creator Combo is quite a beast; the only sad thing is that my amazing A3S purchased in Jan 2025 is taking a back seat. I'm trying to decide which drone I'd take aboard next time I fly in an airplane. The AIR3S storage bag fits neatly in my legal size overhead carry on suitcase with room for other stuff; the Mavic 4 Pro bag is larger although it will still fit in my carry on. I'd be so tempted to take both drones. I also passed my EU EASA A1/A3 Open Sub Category exam even though I have no immediate plans to travel to Europe, it was a good challenge, much harder than getting the Canadian SFOC-RPAS which I also have since I frequently travel to Canada for various activities and meet family there.

High quality road/mountain/trail bikes can get expensive. I'd never sell my amazing Mountain Bike, its not electic but I have well over $15,000 USD invested in it.

How many minutes of flight time are you getting?

How many minutes of flight time are you getting?
Although I have not gone down to draining any battery (of the five I have), a freshly charged battery starting at 99% decreasing to 98% whilst directlly ascending to 176', about a minute into flight, the remaining available flight time showed 42'22". Folllowing a total takeoff/flying to landing duration of 24'42", battery showed 48% remaining charge and available flight time of 19'09".
Doing the math for non-aggressive flying in moderate winds and lots of hovering (I was filming Herons Nests in the forest beside our home), 51% battery depletion provided 24:42 of flying time, adding balance of 19:10 gives a theoretical total of 43:52. This is what I expected. My A3S batteries rated at 43 minutes provides roughly 34 minutes of maximum possible flying time; here with the Mavic M4, a claimed 53 minutes battery, potentially provides 44 minutes of flying time. Assuming I never let any battery drop below 4 minutes balance left, 40x5 batteries, potentially provide me with 3hrs 20mins of maximum safe usable flying time, way more than I'll ever do in a single day of casual flying.
Hope what I said above make sense.
