Honest first thoughts and impressions of the MAVIC 4 PRO

Creator Combo was not too expensive in Norway. The drone is as expected. The max speed increase and battery is great. Free panorama is a small revolution (also on Air3S though). Camera is great, the mid-tele super-useful for free pano shots. Build is great. The gimbal protector is crappy as usual.
One major problem: it is limited to 500m agl, the Air3S has 1000m limit. Does anbody have info on that stupid limit?

The RC2 pro is great, reminds me a bit of controlling Air2 using a mini iPad. But lighter and brighter and better. So both the controller and drone is bigger than previous models. The drone is surprisingly quiet! Can be compared to Air3S.

The tone of the prop noise is lower, so it is less annoying, but it is actually a couple of decibels louder.

It is quieter! It is on par with the Air3 in fact, slightly lower frequency. BTW: My RC2 Pro controller died, mid-flight! They sent me a new one, stating that a chip was fried in the controller. Other than that I am happy with the drone and controller, works well.

Bummer about the fried chip in the RC Pro 2 controller mid-flight! Thank goodness for properly configured loss of signal RTH, eh?

I had the drone in sight when it happened. I did a test with a working controller just to see how it would have gone if I had no visual at the time, and the drone landed perfectly in a quite small space, dodging electricity wires etc. Very impressive.

Losing signal due to signal blockage is one thing, as eventually the loss of signal RTH restores signal control so you can take over for landing. Same with having the app crash. Just reload and take over from RTH by canceling it. However, having a controller completely crap out permanently during a flight is where DJI's loss of signal RTH is really tested, and where it pays to have preselected the correct RTH behavior and height appropriate to your surroundings! Glad it worked out for you.
