Was searching for an FAA campaign held recently, about getting drone for Christmas, and the responsibilities etc.
Came across an interesting article from 2015 from Scientific American, about a similar topic, "So your neighbour got a drone for Christmas".
It's interesting reading about how little was known about airspace authority etc back in the day.
One part stood out, and this is from 2015 remember, "Amazon, Google and Walmart are among the companies that want to use the flying machines for home delivery."
Lots of other points of interest, including the incident itself (drone shooting and an arrest), FAA position at the time, the confusion over flying at any height over property, federal Govco rulings, inc US vs Causby, and various states making laws that were pretty draconian and no doubt unenforceable / outside their scope of authority.

Can you stop them from flying it over your house? No one knows, and that is a big problem for the drone industry
