Looking at all the posts about these parks , towns, cities etc.prohibiting flying of drones and the popularity of the hobby. To me, it seems like a good time for us, the hobbyist to start to fight back.

Form local groups/organizations to fight some of these restrictions on our rights. After all. It's our parks, towns and cities too. It's our taxes that pay for these places and support them. Alot of these restrictions were started in the very early stages of the hobby when many of us just sat back and said to ourselves that it doesn't affect me so opposition was minimal.

These rules, regulations and restrictions all come about as a result of good people not doing anything about them. Forcing some to become outlaws and others to say don't get involved because there is no place to fly.

Seems to me our hobby is growing in leaps and bounds and if we want to continue with flying and taking video and sharing it with others we also need to take on the establishment to stop something we love from being prohibited every where except our living rooms and back yards.

What will we do to protect our hobby.

Just a thought. Opinions welcome. What do you think.

Hello Lone Wolf, I couldn't agree with you more. We need to preserve our hobby and I would hope to think that most pilots do the right thing by following the rules that have been established with just a hand full that doesn't abide by the flying rules that we have now.

It is the bad apples that spoils the barrel.

I agree it's just a few bad apples who spoil it for the rest of us. And I agree most pilots behave correctly.

What I think is crazy are parks who prohibit flying. I think it is in the parks best interest to allow flying as it promotes the park, tourism and commerce in that area. Parks allow dogs who may bite. People ride bikes and the like who could crash into me etc.

I think as time goes forward. We as users will have to get more proactive in regards to our love of the hobby and the possibilities of where it is going.
