Fort Lee- Bergen County NJ

Hello to all! Brand spankin' new to the hobby. I'm in Fort Lee NJ- Bergen County. I'm expecting my very first drone tomorrow. A starter DJI Mini 4K (under 250 grams). I've read much about the FAA rules, taking the TRUST test, and will carry the certificate when flying. I'm sure with many new hobbyists, my first question is where can I fly? Some info seems outdated. Some say no State Parks, but public and county parks are ok. Others have written on this forum, that the State Park ban has been lifted. Certainly not intending to upset the authorities when they see this old man standing in a park or field, staring up into space! I intend to search more, but I'm likely to find further regulations that could be outdated. Should I go to the Town Hall and ask? Will the officer that approaches me disagree with the Town Hall? Sure would be great if anyone knows Fort Lee and their experiences on where to fly here. Thanks in advance!
