Found a Mavic Pro, why don't people label their drones with a phone number? posted everywhere and called local Police no one is claiming it. Drove up and down my street looking for owner, it landed in my yard. We put our phone number on a piece of paper immediately in front of camera but no one called us. ???? I may end up keep it now if it is unclaimed. where do I get a controller and what is absolutely necessary to run it? a controller and what other connections do I need to put video on laptop? I see the tiny SD ultra card is what stores video but any other neccesities? Also is there a main site that people register their drones? I found this North of Boston area - any ideas on how to find owner?

Thanks for being a good person. First, check under the battery. Many people leave some kind of information there. Sometimes a sub folder on the micro sd card will have information .

the sd card might have pictures of the owner or at least his neighborhood. theres a lost drone registry of something like that can't remember exact name. he has to be looking for it unless he's rich and just doesn't care.

Unless the pilot travelled to a take off location or it was a runaway. Still maybe look close.

That’s what I’ve done, sub folder on the memory card as per @BD0G suggestion. ?

This seems to be happening quite a lot now, lost drones being found. Glad there’s still honest people out trying to re home them back to the owners.

Good job @kjnahant ??

Isn't there a log on the sd that would show starting gps location or track for RTH? Using the DJI app? Or at least watch any video that might be stored for an idea where the pilot took off from.

I don't know what RTH or DJI is ---- i'm going to buy an adapter to read the sd card today and will try to find owner that way. Thanks for this information! I like the idea of the GPS location starting position. I'll know more when I read the SD Card, I just found out about it through this site.

The issue is I live on a island and it most likely came from mainland but who knows where --

You could contacted DJI with the s/n of the drone, they may have a record of who it belongs to when they activated it.

Won't do a thing. DJI does not keep a "database" on whom owns what. They can't even kill a "stolen" AC (like cell phones can be effectily killed).

About all one can do is place an add in the local paper, or here in the forums, and see if someone can verfy that it is theirs...
