I found this:

Yes that is another way of doing it with the stock controller, just have to add all the additional electronic accessories, With the Smart controller its just plug and play as it has the HDMI outlet on the top of the controller.

So if I'm using the standard RC N1, then what happens in this video is that that physically separate gear for the goggles, allows the phone to mirror its screen, to the goggles screen.

Yes? Or am I missing something.
