I had a Mavic 3 Pro fly away. They sent me a DJI baseball cap with the replacement and then called me to let me know they were sending an email with a link to a Mav3 Pro battery. Free. No reason. Anyone else (other than influencers) gotten such things out of the blue? The battery is still on it's way but I have a tracking number now...

Did the replacement aircraft come without a battery?
If so, that explains why they would still owe you a battery.
Otherwise, you got the second battery unnecessarily.

The replacement came with a battery. They are just giving me a cap and a battery because I'm such a cool kid. They called on the phone to let me know they were offering me a "coupon" for a battery and of course I said, "sure...thanks" thinking it would be a $10 off coupon. They confirmed my email address on the phone and the email I got didn't clarify it but it gave me a web site to order a battery but that link required that I have a Canadian address. It did show the battery would be free but I could not order it. I responded to the original email thanking them but explaining I was not Canadian. My replacement drone with a battery and free cap came from Canada so I thought I was out of luck but DJI responded with a link that worked for me. My free battery was to arrive tomorrow but I will be out of town and delayed the UPS shipment. I think this is, at the least, quite unusual but perhaps it's also unusual to have bought 9 DJI drones over the last several years. I still have 8 of them but sold one of them. That's why I posted this...just curious how unusual this is. Ordered a Mav4 Creator from BH but who knows when/if that will actually be available. My eyes are wide open on that order :). Humorously since I got a Mav 3 and then the Mav3 Pro I already have 6 batteries but when I go out for a long day of shooting like I did for the Bison video I recently posted I am constantly charging two batteries and a 7th will be just fine with me. The Mav4 batteries, however, are really spendy....so if that order does come through I doubt I'll ever have more than 5 but I do need at least that number during a long day of flying.

I received a DJI baseball cap after I spent several days working with support to get a USB C door replacement for my Action 5 Pro. I got the cap and the replacement door for free.

Strange. Could be a mistake, thinking the drone replacement was sent out without a battery. Definitely not normal for DJI to give anyone a $200 battery away for free, after having already replaced yours.

You deserve it, you put a lot of time and effort into this hobby. Its about time you got a little something back, kudos. Keep the videos coming, Ive always enjoyed them. I still remember your video of the Iditarod this past season.

thanks for those kind words. I'm working on my bison video which really was a lot of work. 6 days, traveling 150mi each way and 5-6 hours of shooting (obviously not continuous) for a week of 10hour days but so much fun watching the bison herd. Should have it done withing a week or less. Super hard to cut down all that footage to just a few minutes :).

not a mistake, it turns out. Got the battery today. New, with 0 cycles in a fresh DJI box from New Jersey. Now I have to position my 7 batteries 'just so' in my case that has place for four batteries (plus battery in drone) ...but I get them all to fit. It will be really nice to have more breathing room when I go out on a long day of shooting. Often I'm trying to charge one in the three-battery charger using one cigarette charger and another using my drone but that means I can't close the case fully so if I have to stop hard (moose...caribou...) it's a problem. With 7 batteries it may be a bit easier to get through a day of shooting without recharging issues.
