The classic iMovie works best.

For more advanced needs (such as logo animation, special effects, etc), I recommend HitFilm Express, which is both an editor and a compositor (the thing that allows you to do the magic).

Beware of the user interface though. The learning curve is steep like a wall ; being familiar with iMovie would help in the general way video editing is done but for the rest...

There are TONS of youtube tutorials though, which makes the whole process a lot easier. You even have downloadable work-packs for the extremely tough stuff.

Blackmagic resolve = Davinci Resolve (I think — haven’t tried it yet, but considering it)

I do most (95%+) of my editing in iMovie. My results are posted in several videos here... just search my screen name and the word Sedona for examples.
