Long story short,
friend of mine lost his Mavic, he had it for almost 10 days. Here is the flight log. This is the last log he found on his phone.

Home point is set correctly at 5s and no issues at all. Suddenly at 6m and 45s after and @ 1,416 ft away phone went grey, thus total disconnect. Remote control indicated that a return to home was initiated, phone was still grey. Distance was reducing via remote which indicated that rth was in use. After a few seconds remote disconnected too and was indicating "Connecting...". Drone never came back. They searched the place in order to find it, mavic was never found... He opened a case with DJI and they said that it was not his fault. Probably will be replaced since drone is new and under warranty.
