Full updates with new purchase?

Just purchased the M2Z with smart controller. Too good to pass up at $1560.00.

Question is, will have options on how far to update firmware, or only the latest firmware? If I am given options, should I go all the way to the latest version? Are there any bugs?

Normally you're notified to install the most up-to-date firmware release (will be a stable version).

You can downgrade your firmware version using DJI Assistant 2.

I also have the M2Z with SC and have it up to the latest version. It seems to work very well, although there's some features I am sure that I don't use. I would think a full update should be fine.
