GEO system vs. NFZ

So I got a warning about being in GEO zone and needed to accept the warning to fly.. I didn't, but flew w/o the DJI GO app, just to see if it would work & record.. The flight was short, a couple of min. But when I got back home I checked the area. The NFZ area was fine just a small bubble around the local Napa CA airport. The GEO Fencing area was huge with overlapping bubbles of Enhanced Warning Zones.. Most of the land is open space, vineyards & farm land.. I thought if you stay below 400 ft everything is OK w/FAA and restrictions.. so what's the issue, just wondering?

DJI GEO System - Up-to-date Information On Where to Fly

The GEO system gives you the ability to fly in areas that you might not otherwise be able to by allowing you to "authorize" yourself.

I just leave GEO FENCING off. I scout out the areas I fly before I take off so I will not infringe in no fly areas. The problem I found was that a lot of no fly areas are wrong. I am just out side of 9 Kms from my towns airport. The no fly bubble touches my neighbors property. Problem is it is a small airport that should have a 5 km radius no fly. I have called the airport to verify.

If you turn off geo, you will not be able to fly in any area that is considered an NFZ. And without GEO the NFZ zones are much much larger. With GEO, the NFZ are much smaller and thus allow you to fly in areas you might not be able to without it.

I take it turning off GEO is a setting in the GO app..

hi all i cant seam to find the DJI NFZs in the DJIGO4 app on the map, they used to be displayed but now i dont see them. is there a way to see a map with DJI and other NFZs in the UK? any recommended app?
