I am trying to fly at a convenient site that is within an Authorized zone. I am getting the GEO Zone red alert sign in the upper left screen of the Fly app and am not being prompted to unlock the zone. I have been trying to unlock the GEO zone in the Safety section of the app and it tells me that the unlocking license has expired and instructing me to go to the DJI website>Support>Fly Safe>Unlock a Zone. When I do that it only gives me the opportunity to unlock a zone for three days. It asks me to select the location and to input the flight controller serial number, which I did. I did manage to get that zone unlocked for three days. Is it really supposed to be this difficult? Thanks.

A screenshot of the map might be useful here... but through FAA DroneZone I got a 2 year approval for an area where I practice, not in airport TO/landing paths, that is over 2 square miles and encompasses the edges of NFZs of 2 LAANC participating airports. I have no problems. And have never had to ask DJI for permission to fly. I got the FAA approval on a phone that is not used with my M2P. All my devices and the drone are on current software BTW.

From what I have read, DJI is doing things differently with the Mini, as opposed to the M2P. I would love to unlock my GEO zone for a full year!

Again... I never involved DJI. A drone is a drone... you’ll have to register, but you should be able to get the clearance.

But the unlocking license comes from DJI, no one else, as far as I can tell. Not directly related to LAANC.

The way you did it is the only way I've been able to unlock an authorization zone..... the whole system is just too stupid and difficult.. and over lawyered..... but it does work as long as you have an internet connection.... but wait... I tried to get an unlock code the other day while out in the field using my i-phone and guess what it won't work with a cell phone.. even though you have to have an internet connection to load the unlock code via your controller to the drone....

The really stupid part about all this is you can program the drone via the controller to have a maximum above ground height... ... so why would you nee an unlock code if you limit your altitude to say something like 50ft above ground level? I want to use my drones in my business and 50ft is about the maximum height I need to go.....

Up until today I had no problem flying in my area. I live about 4 miles from an airport. Today, the DJI app updated and then I couldn't fly. I had to check off 3 questions, then got a "DJI Verification Code" text message, and now can fly from home again. I'm assuming this update caused this???
