I have a husban h501s a cheap but brilliant drone I encountered a Mavic air yesterday equipped with a 4k lens and an excellent gps system as I'm sure many of you are aware husban offers gps but it is unstable at low altitudes. I really really want the dji Mavic air but being dji it is too *** expensive I earn a wage of £4 a week so getting a Mavic will take me 50 years. I was just wondering if anyone had any spares and if so would they be willing to swap? if not how would I get a cheap Mavic from a reliable scoure?

thanks so much

sam

Welcome aboard Mavic Pilots sam! If I may be so bold as to ask, where are you located to be earning that sort of money?

Unless someone offers one out of goodwill, I think It'll be hard to find one second handed for less than $700,- that isn't tampered with or defective. The quad is still quite new and hasn't degraded in value that much yet. Not to mention that bottom price MA's only have one battery. The Fly More Combo would be more costly.
Also be very wary of sellers who do offer an Air for way less than the norm. Unless they've explicitly mentioned why that price is that low aside of "I have the best deals" is most likely going to rip you off.

I can only advise to either look for ways to earn something on the side, or to sell stuff.
That, or perhaps you might consider getting the Pro instead. Its base price has decreased notably lately including the FMC package. Especially second handed. And it's still an amazing quad.

Perhaps you could consider changing your job description to "Global News Distribution Agent". Many of today's high earners started their working lives delivering newspapers.

thanks for the advice I was considering getting the pro but as I say dji are really pricey

you know what I didn't know that the job I've currently got hasn't offered any promotions in the 3 years I've been doing it.

You may just have to settle a bit and get an older phantom or something like that. The GPS is really good on those as well.

the reason I wanted the Mavic air is because its quiet phantoms are known to be extremely loud. its why I have a h501s they're quiet and brilliant dji are best known for their wasp nests the phantom is an amazing drone im just going for something quieter hence the mavic air

If you're aiming for a low noise quad, you'd definitely be better off with a Mavic Pro using the Platinum propellers (they fit on regular Pro's).
Although about the same decibels, the pitch of the Air's sound is higher than that of the Pro, causing it to be a lot more audible. I did found it to be quieter than the Phantom, but again the Phantom's pitch is lower due to the larger props. People usually perceive a high sound pitch more irritating than the decibels.

Maybe you could buy this one: DJI Mavic Pro Drone with 4K HD Camera (DJI Refurbished) 3001080023863 | eBay
It's refurbished by Dji experts and It's in great conditions, It has lots of solds and It's pretty cheap. Also, it comes with controller and one battery...
ill have to start saving for the mean time though Is hubsan a reliable brand? obviously you're a professional and as its gonna take me a while could my h501s photography sell?hubsan_snap_19700101_080130.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080141.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080226.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080415.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080500.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080503.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080130.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080141.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080226.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080415.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080500.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080503.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080130.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080141.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080226.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080415.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080500.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080503.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080516.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080130.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080141.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080226.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080415.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080500.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080503.jpg hubsan_snap_19700101_080516.jpg

that's true I think ill either wait for the air's price to come down or go yolo with a Mavic thing is once you've got a drone with a good enogh camerea, you can pretty much pay it off with the photos (if you live in a good area)

the thing about the spark is it has a 1080p camera so its basically like buying the done I've got (the hubsan h501s) but for 100 pounds more
1080P says nothing about the image quality in it. The Spark would definitely be an upgrade from a Hubsan. The mechanical gimbal alone improves the quality so much better. The distortion or misaligned horizon are history. Also I'd reckon that the image sensor and processing of the Spark may be better as well, but you may need to lookup some comparisons for that.

As for selling drone footage -aside of any legal aspects- remember that aerial footage by itself does not sell. You still need to capture a subject that's worth buying for someone, with proper composition and color grading, or better RAW files. For the latter you'd definitely need a Pro since the Spark cannot shoot RAW photos.

Resolution wise that's very true.
But the differences start there. The spark having a mechanical gimbal and DJI flight tech makes a whole lot of difference.
But I get your point. The Mavic is still a better upgrade.
Only suggested the Spark because of the economic limitation.
