Problem?
“Gimbal motor overload” after a repair. Original problem was that it gave that error and there was no video.

Was unit in a crash?
Yes.

What have you tried so far?
Replaced gimbal arm, ribbon cable, video transfer cable.

What device are you using ( iphone , ipad, Samsung , etc)? iPhone X

What firmware are you running ( aircraft, remote controller)? All current.

What Go app version are you using? Latest.

Any modification?
(if so what) No

Did you change anything or install any apps? (if so what) No

Do you have a video or pictures of the problem? (if so post link) No, sorry!!

I had what I thought was a minor crash but it really did a number on the gimbal. My friend (who is a drone enthusiast an electronics genius) replaces the gimbal arm, ribbon cable, and video cable. It previously did not have a video feed, but now it does. It does the classic gimbal “thing” where it slams itself to the sides and freezes to the side and gives the motor overload error. I do not have control over the gimbal and it seems not to attempt to stabilize. My friend wants to replace the forward sensor/camera/gimbal board but suggested that I poke around on the internet to see if anyone had worked with any similar issues.

Thanks in advance!

First and cheaper thing would be to try another ribbon cable. As i had nearly the same situation as you, i would give it a try. I dont know how easy a gimbal board can get defective, but as it is expensive, i would follow these steps:
1. change ribbon cable again
2. change gimbal assembly
3. change gimbal board

Yep, Gimbal assembly and ribbon were replaced. Along with the video cable. The problem went from motor overload with no video to Gimbal motor overload with a video feed.

I think I should clarify: has anyone been in a similar situation and did replacing the forward sensor board fix the problem? At this point I’m very close to having replaced every component of the camera assembly (except the camera itself) and am a little paranoid that if this doesn’t fix it then the problem is with the main board.

Thanks!
