Mini 2 arrived today. Carefully unboxed it etc. I charged the batteries and controller, registered, turned it on indoors, but there was a "gimbal stuck" message. This message still remained after turning off and back on a few times. I tried to recalibrate the gimbal (auto), but that didn't move from 0% so probably didn't begin. When the drone is powered on, the gimbal moves around in the various positions. And, yes, I'd obviously first removed the gimbal cover. I'd appreciate any advice from anyone, hoping that it doesn't immediately need to be returned.

With respect to the drone was the camera horizontal in both pitch and roll in the gimbal cover when you unboxed the drone?

Confused on the cal gimbal (Auto)...did you try a manual gimbal cal, as in in app?

Repaid1: Thank you. No, I haven't tried a manual gimbal calibration. It's late here now (UK), so I'll try that tomorrow morning.

was it laying on carpet or grass, or uneven solid ground?
the legs on the mm2 arent long enought really, the slightest bit of soft or uneven ground and the gimbal is bottomed out.
I get a gimbal stuck error if i set mine down on carpet to do a firmware update.

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Lastrexking: Well said! One of the best quotes ever, which i commonly use in our work. Three years ago, I was given an 11cm Yoda as a present which, when pressed, speaks three different sayings (one at a time) - and, yes, it's constantly set to "Do, or do not. There is no try."

it has happened to me, all you have to do is to pull the gimbal outside, it has a protection, but it doesnt write in the manual

This morning, the problem somehow solved itself. A small (broken?) piece of black plastic fell out of the area where the camera is located. No more "Gimbal stuck" warning. This mystery piece must have broken before or during transportation. I was extremely careful unboxing and the drone had not been outdoors.

Can anyone please identify the broken or dislodged piece (right of photo, with a controller stick on left for size comparison). I've since flown the Mini 2 outside once seemingly with no problems. Do I need to return the drone? Can I reattach the small piece? If so, where (it isn't obvious)?

Are there marks, including break surfaces, or clips on the piece of plastic to indicate how it was attached to what it should be attached to?

PhiliusFoggg: Thank you. One the rear or back side, at the left side edge, there's a tiny protrusion suggesting that it might clip onto something. If so, it's possible that the same on the right might have snapped off - but I can't see any obvious indication or mark that this happened (using strong reading glasses for magnification). There's "D3" in tiny print on the rear side. I'm guessing the distinct curve shape is a major clue for those of you who know your parts!

There are also very tiny guide protrusions (two) at the top corners of the rear side - of the straight edge (not curve).

i just showed you where to mount it back, try to put back and clip or stick it
excuse me, i think i didnt understand correctly, did you say that the back of the gimbal is like mine? intact?

WooZie; The pieces around the gimbal, as shown in your photo, are still in place (i.e. NOT missing). They look similar in shape and size - but not actually the same. If you look closely at my photo, there is a slightly raised ridge or line going across the piece, so it isn't flat.
