Gimbal thumb sticks changeable?

So my Mavic isn't here yet but i am planning ahead. When I got into face quads I started pinching to fly and have not looked back since. I noticed the Mavic's thumb sticks dont really give that ability too tell. Anyone able to tell if they unscrew to be replaced with thinner gimbal sticks? Thanks.

The sticks do not unscrew and they are not designed to be removable/replaceable.

Did this change? I have seen several videos of people demonstrating how they pull out.

No, it hasn't changed. Some folks are man-handling their remote controllers to pull them out. Only time will tell if that causes any problems down the road.
