Had to check up about the religion / background, Eastern Orthodox (Eastern Catholic Church), the original monastery was considered built around 1224.
Mostly destroyed by earthquake in 1913, the modern buildings were rebuilt on the site in 1951.

You know more than me now I visit it one 1-th of Jan many years ago, there was dirt road covered with snow to it ... since then they paved the road and crowds start gathering so I visit only from outside marvelous place thou
